“The plates used for printing the engravings have been and are frequently destroyed or kept by the workshops where they are produced, thereby preventing possible later replication. Once the final edition of the engravings for the book Sibil•la was completed, I industrially stamped the copper plates, using vectorized drawings, thus freeing them from their notational function and turning them into unique, irreproducible artworks, capable of generating new mental images, those produced by their impossible printing.”
